Located in the heart of the popular village of Barham which is in an area of outstanding natural beauty is this Victorian detached home which dates back to the 1880's. The property still retains many of the period features associated with its age including bay windows, large wooden sash windows, ornate cornicing and open fireplaces. The property is in need of modernisation throughout and there is potential to extend to the rear and convert the existing outbuildings to make a larger property, subject to the necessary permissions*. The village of Barham is located 7 miles south-east of the city of Canterbury and its origins can be traced back to 799. The village is located in the Elham valley part of the wider Kent Downs which is in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The property is located just 0.1 miles walk from the 12th century St John The Baptist church with its distinctive green spire and magnificent Beech trees. The well regarded The Duke of Cumberland pub is just 250ft walk away and is a typical village pub serving good quality home cooked food and local ales. The village also boast a newly finished village hall offering everything from Karate to mother and baby groups. The village hall also accommodates a local store with a post office which is entirely run by volunteers from the village community. Barham also has a village primary school which was rated as good in its last Ofsted report. The village has a regular bus service running back to the city of Canterbury and has good road links being just 0.7 miles from the A2. The nearest train Station is located in the village of Snowdown just 3.1 miles drive away which has links back into Canterbury and London Victoria.
