" A most exquisite Grade II Listed cottage known as Monks Hall, steeped in history, charm and character and nestled in idyllic Fordwich, England‘s smallest town. Dating from the 15th Century, the entire row of cottages constituted a Hall House, being an open hall with no subdivisions or upper floor. It is believed to have been used by the monks as the customs office for imports arriving by river at Fordwich for Canterbury. After the dissolution of the monasteries in the late 1530s, it was bought up and subdivided into individual dwellings, one of which is Monks Hall.

This double fronted cottage has handsome kerb appeal and on street parking to front. Upon entry, you will find a stunning open plan lounge and dining room with a beautiful exposed brick fireplace with wood burning stove, timber flooring and exposed beams. The kitchen has recently been fully renovated with an array of fitted cupboards, drawers and Bosch appliances. Contrasting solid wood work surfaces have been installed alongside a new gas fired boiler in August 2023. The property also benefits from a utility room with space for washing appliances and WC. French double doors open out towards the stunning rear garden with an abundance of mature trees, plants and shrubs.
