" High House is a classical 16th century timbered residence of considerable character and has been refurbished to a very high standard by the current owners. About eight years ago the house benefitted from a sympathetic extension n++ the weather boarded building shown in the photograph n++ which provides a large reception room with two bedrooms above. There are many notable features including good sized windows, tall ceilings and items of historical and architectural interest at every corner. The main reception rooms are timbered and have impressive inglenook fireplaces, there are two matching turned oak staircases, a bespoke kitchen has integrated appliances and the master bedroom has a free-standing roll top bath. The new part of the house is highly insulated and provides a delightful reception room with doors to the garden and two good bedrooms above and in the old house there are two attic rooms which make ideal children's bedrooms.

Outside the garden extends to in excess of 100ft in length and is laid to lawn, there is a generous terrace with a low brick retaining wall and two timber sheds. Beyond the house on the way to The Lavers, there is some remarkably unspoilt wooded countryside. The area is popular with commuters as Junction 7 of the M11 is a five minute drive from the house, which is also within easy reach of local shops and the noteworthy local JMI schools and the well-regarded St Nicholas independent day school (ages 4-16).Directions

From Bishops Stortford proceed south on the A1184 through Sawbridgeworth and at the major roundabout on the outskirts of Harlow, turn left signposted to Old Harlow. Pass through Old Harlow, go straight on at the mini roundabout and at the next roundabout, turn left into Gilden Way on the B183 to Sheering. At the roundabout turn right and at the n++Tn++ junction turn left. The property will be found on the left after about 300m. "
