INTRODUCTION Set within 2 acres of formal gardens, this fine Edwardian Country House offers the splendour of a bygone age, built for a Liverpool Merchant in 1905, originally within approximately 20 acres of grazing land.
The Yeoward family remained at Mayfield until 1965 when the estate was taken over by a local family of market gardeners, who carried on the traditions and retained the character of the house.
It was not until 1994, some 30 years later, as the family grew and dispersed that Mayfield was sold to the current owners. At this time the cottage, outbuildings and land were retained and the surrounding land is still being worked by the family of the former owners.
