OPEN HOUSE 30th September. Please call for viewing arrangements
Featured in the April 2017 edition of 'Self Build and Design' magazine, this home is a fine example of a contemporary 'eco' designed house, having been built to an exacting specification for the present owners in 2014. It is set within mature grounds of approximately three quarters of an acre within the prestigious Chelsfield Park where Kent country life meets the suburbs and this exclusive residents association enjoys the use of its own tennis club and cricket ground that the property backs on to.
Commuters will find fast trains to the city from Chelsfield station (zone 6) under half a mile away and Junction 4 of the M25 is just one and a half miles distant. Local shopping facilities at Windsor Drive can be found within half a mile and there are many reputable state comprehensive and grammar schools within the Orpington area.
Once you step inside you will find a home in excess of 3700 sq ft. where the designers have paid meticulous attention to detail that capitalises on natural light and heat. Eco-friendly and energy efficient construction techniques involved the use of sustainably sourced Larch wood and triple glazing, along with underfloor heating to the ground and lower ground floor, plus, a highly efficient heat energy recovery system. A blossoming sedum green roof system also provides highly efficient thermal insulation and water is recycled using a grey/rain water harvesting system.
The spacious accommodation has a very flexible layout that includes living space and bedrooms over three floors. The entrance hall provides access to the ground floor which has a large open plan reception area with areas for lounging and dining as well as access to a separate study and mezzanine level. Steps down to the lower ground floor lead to a stunning kitchen/dining room where unique work surfaces light up to give the impression of molten lava. An annexe on from here can also provide private accommodation for relatives to enjoy space of their own.
The second floor accommodation includes four bedrooms, the master suite having its dressing room and en suite bathroom with bath and shower cubicle. There are three other bathrooms throughout the property as well as a utility room and garage.
Outside, the property is approached via a stone driveway that provides off-street parking for several vehicles and is surrounded by a wild meadow front garden. The rear garden has many mature trees and shrubs providing privacy and seclusion as well as a landscaped patio area for entertaining. Many fruit beds to the rear of the garden give way to a largely wooded area which in turn provides access to the private facilities of Chelsfield Park tennis club. "
