" 'Highfield House' is an impressive, Edwardian detached residence which has since been converted into apartments, situated on what is widely considered to be one of Lewes' premier roads within the highly sought after Wallands area. This particular one bedroom apartment is situated on the ground floor and is offered with the rare and added benefits of its own private entrance, a garage and an allocated off street parking space. This fine apartment has been finished to a very high standard although, in our opinion, some re-decoration in part may be of benefit. A wealth of features synonymous with the architectural era in which the property was built have been selectively retained and beautifully restored. Such features can be enjoyed from the outset, examples of which include a 'chequer board' tiled floor to the open porch and an extremely beautiful decorative tiled floor in the entrance porch. Further points of note include half panelled walls in part, decorative ceiling cornicings, fitted storage, sash windows and gas central heating throughout. The entrance porch leads to a study area and to the entrance hall with access to the principal rooms. The 15 ft living room features a walk-in squared bay window with sash windows affording an abundance of natural light along with views towards the South Downs. The separate 10 ft modern kitchen comprises a range of wall and base units in a white gloss design off-set by block wood work tops. The well-equipped kitchen incorporates integral Neff appliances which specifically include a dual oven with grill, four-ring gas hob, fridge freezer, washer/drier and a dishwasher. Completing the accommodation is a 13 ft bedroom with a pair of sash windows to the front enjoying countryside views and an en suite shower room. The shower room comprises a fully tiled walk-in shower area with a wall mounted power shower, wash hand basin, w/c and a heated towel rail. Externally, communal lawned gardens surround the property and have well established borders. No chain.
