" House-hut estate agents are delighted to present this very special property, one of five conversions of a Grade II listed mid Victorian former school house situated within private landscaped gardens bordering open farmland and uninterrupted views over the Somerset countryside. Dating from the mid 1800s this former school house has random stone elevations with dressed stone quoins and window detail and was originally converted in the 1980s. Work has been carried out by the present owners to provide a stylish and contemporary interior to this spacious three bedroom family home spread over four floors including a lovely basement providing an additional reception room and utility room.

The property is situated in the quiet rural village of Chantry surrounded by beautiful Somerset countryside. Frome lies approximately 3 miles away, which is an attractive market town and was recently voted one of the top six places to live in England by The Times newspaper. It has a thriving town centre with many amenities, including a wide range of local and individual shops, a twice weekly market, banks, post office, two theatres, a number of music venues, a cinema, pubs and restaurants, a new local hospital, supermarkets, leisure centre, two golf courses, a football club.and a railway station with direct mainline services to London. There are a number of schools in the town including the newly opened Steiner Academy for 4 to 11 year olds, Oakfield Academy and Frome Community College. There are also a number of good private schools nearby including All Hallows Prep School and Downside. Millfield, Wells Cathedral and Kings Bruton Schools are all within 30 minutes drive. Bath also has a good selection of private schools including King Edwards School. Babington House the private members club is approximately 2 miles distant. Chantry is located on the borders of Somerset and Wiltshire and the surrounding countryside offers lots of lovely walks and opportunities for outdoor pursuits such as walking, horse riding and fishing. Nearby is the well renowned Longleat Estate, a number of national trust properties including Stourhead. The stunning Georgian city of Bath lies approximately 15 miles distant, which is home to elegant buildings, amazing museums and ancient hot springs, offering a wealth of cultural experiences to enjoy. There are good road links to London and the South West via the A303, M4 and M5 all of which are in reasonable reach. Mainline rail connections to London are also provided from Bath and nearby Westbury and Bristol Airport is also a 45 minute drive away.
