Description

"A fantastic detached Victorian family home recently refurbished to a very high standard, in a prominent position close to the centre of Crewkerne, with a garage and off street parking.

THE PROPERTY
Tucked away on the edge of the popular market town of Crewkerne, first glimpses of The Old Mill House are most impressive, with its striking facade constructed of local Ham stone under a pitched slate roof.

Dating back to the popular Victorian era of architecture, this is a fantastic family home that has recently undergone a fastidious programme of works and now boasts immaculately presented accommodation to suit most families needs.

On first entering the property it is difficult not to smile, with an inner hall ideal for boots and coats. Just off the hall is a perfectly proportioned TV snug room with high ceilings and stripped wooden flooring.

Of particular note on the ground floor is the newly designed sitting room, dining room, and bespoke family kitchen, exemplifying modern living. The sitting room can be partitioned off with double doors, but opens out perfectly to a dining area with plenty of room for a kitchen dining table, and then through to a superb family kitchen incorporating a number of bespoke wall and base units, an island and breakfast bar, and Zanussi induction hob and twin Neff oven. This forms a most perfect hub of the house, with a WC and large boot room laundry room alongside. It has been designed with a huge amount of flair and attention to detail, and even has bi folding doors opening out to the terrace and beautiful gardens, ideal for al fresco dining.

The principal bedrooms are situated on the first floor, with three fantastic bedrooms and a study. There is a there is also a good sized family bathroom and shower room with its own stunning views over the gardens and countryside beyond.

On the second floor are a number of superb attic rooms with a study games area, shower room, large walk in airing linen cupboard, and double bedroom, ideal for teenage children.

OUTSIDE
To the side of the house is off street gravelled parking for ample cars and a double garage, so rare for Crewkerne.

To the rear is the most delightful garden, a utopia for children and animals. There is a paved and gravelled eating terrace, ornamental pond, and large expanses of lawn with well stocked borders and a number of specimen trees. It really is a true delight and easy to forget that you are a five minute walk to the centre of town.

LOCATION
Situated on Somerset Dorset border, and just 30 minutes drive from the stunning Jurassic Coastline, the fine market town of Crewkerne has an excellent range of high street and independent shops, supermarkets including Waitrose, cafes, restaurants and pubs and leisure facilities including a leisure centre and swimming pool. There is a mainline railway station to London Waterloo in 2.5 hours Exeter Bristol.

The larger commercial town of Yeovil is just over 9 miles away and boasts several large superstore supermarkets, out of town retail parks, leisure facilities including theatre, cinema, bowling and leisure centre with swimming pools and a large hospital.

Taunton, the county town of Somerset, together with the beautiful cathedral cities of Exeter and Wells lie a little further afield, offering a vibrant array of shopping and leisure pursuits, including fine dining, historic architecture and international sporting events.
