Description

"Substantially extended and improved detached house with indoor pool

Description

8 Oakway has recently been substantially extended and remodelled by the current owners and is presented in excellent decorative order. The design by local architect Howard Pease, features a double height rear extension with extensive glazing and creates a voluminous open plan living space opening onto the garden, with two floor to roof voids split by a mezzanine seating area. Bi fold doors to the rear and side, open the back of the house up to the south west facing rear garden and in good weather, seamlessly blend indoor and outdoor living spaces, making the house ideal for entertaining family and friends alike. To the front the sitting room with log burner offers a more formal environment while a snug or TV room gives another private space for family use. The kitchen has sleek modern cabinets, an island unit, range cooker and picture window overlooking the garden. The adjacent utility room has more storage and door to garden. There is a guest cloakroom located off the reception hallway.

The first floor has a seating or study area above the family room space at the rear with glass balustrade and fine views over the garden through the double height window. The main bedroom has a dressing room and en suite shower room. The second bedroom has an en suite shower room and there are two further bedrooms and a study or fifth bedroom. The family bathroom has corner bath and shower cubicle.

A particular feature of this property is the quality of the outside space and the amenities available for family life and entertainment. Step out onto the large patio and you can look down the garden with lawn and central path. To the left is a brick built outdoor kitchen, to the right a gazebo offering covered seating, or for the more energetic, there is a pool house with 35ft heated indoor pool. To the rear of the garden hidden by hedging are vegetable beds and garden shed. To the front of the house there is a substantial block paved driveway leading to the integral double garage with EV charger.

The house has gas central heating with the family ding room having underfloor heating and air conditioning. Solar panels help to reduce energy costs while the pool is heated by air source heat pump.
