Description

"A delightful three bedroom period home, occupying a lovely position close to Taunton train station and Taunton Recreation Ground. The house was built circa 1900 and has been loved and cared for by the current owners since 2017. You enter through the front door into the entrance hall, with original tiled flooring, stairs rising to the first floor and a door opening to the principal reception rooms.

The living room is situated at the front of the house and enjoys high ceilings, cornicing and a feature fireplace with an inset wood burning stove for those chilly winter evenings. The bay window at the front provides lots of natural light. The dining room is positioned in the middle of the home and has understairs storage and French doors opening to the rear garden. The breakfast room is the third reception room currently used as a home working space , and with an opening to the kitchen.

The Owners Love The current owners have loved the convenience and close proximity of Taunton town centre and all its amenities just a short walk from the front door. They particularly love Our family home! When we bought this house back in 2017, we knew it was the one for us. We loved the blank canvas for us to create a lovey home for ourselves. We hope the new owners will love it as much as we have! They have also found the access to the main line railway station and the excellent primary school St Andrews at the end of the road to be very convenient.

The kitchen is located at the rear of the house and benefits from a variety of fitted wall and base units, with work surfaces over and inset sink with drainer. There is space for a variety of appliances, including electric cooker, fridge freezer and plumbing for a washing machine and dishwasher.

Upstairs, on the first floor landing, there is a larger than average landing, due to the additional width over the alley below. The master bedroom is a great size and benefits from a window to the front aspect and a feature chimneybreast. The second bedroom is again an excellent size with a window to the rear aspect overlooking the garden and again with its own feature chimneybreast. The third bedroom is a single room, at the front of the house. The large bathroom is toward the back of the house, fitted with a four piece suite including bath, walk in shower, washbasin, and WC.

George Loves I love the original features and characterful charm this property has! I have sold many period homes like this over the years, and I am always impressed with the amount of space these houses have! This one is extra large, due to overhanging the alley below. Also, the area is a big selling point. I grew up around here and went to the school. It is a lovely place to raise a family, and I have many fond memories of the park on the doorstep. This one won t hang around for long!

Outside, to the rear of the property there is a well maintained garden, which enjoys a variety of areas to enjoy. Initially, there is a hard standing area, which leads onto a lawn. At the bottom, there is a brick paved area with some raised decking for a seating area and all fully enclosed with a side gate, which provides useful rear access via the alley.
