Description

"Elegant village home offering character charm and contemporary living.

Description

This is an elegant stone detached Grade II listed property with slate tiled roof, situated in the heart of the village. The house has been sympathetically renovated by the current owners retaining many of the character features, including flagstone floor, exposed beams, sash windows and window seats and replacement wooden shutters.

The house consists of a kitchen breakfast room with breakfast bar, five ring gas hob, Neff electric oven, built in Neff dishwasher and space for large fridge freezer. Immediately adjoining is the utility room with built in cupboards and drawers and space for a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is access through to the cellar, which has lapsed planning to refurbish ref 17 00477 LB . There is a generous dining room, which was once part of a separate cottage but now fully incorporated within the main house. There are stairs up to a magnificent study with a high ceiling and built in book shelves, with east facing windows allowing plenty of natural light into the room providing a wonderful work space.

From the kitchen, steps lead up into the sitting room which offers a wonderful entertaining space with south facing shuttered windows, providing two separate seating areas each with a wood burning stove. One end has lovely wooden floorboards, the other is laid with flag stones. The front door is positioned centrally between what would have been two rooms.

Stairs lead up to the first floor with a family bathroom and four bedrooms. One of the bedrooms is currently being used as a second study, which could also be used as a nursery or playroom. On the second floor is the principal bedroom with built in wardrobes and vaulted ceiling with exposed timbers. There are double aspect windows with views across the village and a generous en suite shower room.

Outside is a pretty rear garden with gravel seating area, lawn, log store and bin store. The current owners have access over the neighbour s drive to a gated entrance and space to park a small car. There is provision for additional separate off road parking if required.
