Description

"

Set in the heart of leafy Wellswood, this UNIQUE DETACHED HOUSE is nestled on the wooded hillside above Stoodley Meadow and Ansteys Cove, screened from the road and set behind an extensive private driveway. Home to our clients over forty years, the house affords versatile accommodation with the primary living space at entrance level, and lower garden level used by our clients for guest bedrooms, although previously providing a self contained annexe and scope to revert. A wonderful opportunity for those seeking a bespoke home in one of Torquay s most desirable locations.

Over Anstey conveniently stands just a short saunter to the comprehensive amenities of Wellswood with its village ambiance where independent shops, Coop, Post Office, Kents Pub, St Matthias Church, delicatessen and highly regarded Ilsham Primary School can all be found. A private gate links the garden to Stoodley Meadow, where picturesque walks can be taken southerly through the Ilsham Valley to Meadfoot Beach, or northerly on the south west coast paths to the coastal fields of Walls Hill and beyond to Babbbcombe Bay.

OWNER INSIGHT

"We have lived in "Over Anstey" for over 40 years and has been an absolute delight to have lived here for so many years. Both our children grew up here, attending local schools and still visit regularly. We all still enjoy the house s close proximity to the beaches, coastline, local pub, restaurants and shops in the village. We have also all enjoyed the varied wild life in the garden and surrounding areas. It is a unique property. It caused us some merriment when people from all over the world used to wander down our drive to see "the house that Mr Fawlty lived in" We all enjoy walking and is ideally situated with the Meadow at the bottom of the garden, through our back gate. It has been like living in the country with the wide open rural views but with the benefits of the village approximately 200 yards away. Extremely quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of life, the best of both worlds. We shall be so sad to leave this amazing property but for us it is time."
