Description

"A charming and characterful ground floor apartment occupying a lovely position on the lower ground floor of Heatherton Park House, with an outlook to the communal grounds. The building was constructed circa 1770 for Sir Thomas Gunston and has more recently been converted to apartments for residential occupation. You enter through the communal entrance hall of the main building with stairs descending to the lower ground floor level. Once inside the apartment, there is a hallway with doors opening to the principal rooms.

The living room is situated in the centre of the apartment and has a large sash window, which provides a pleasant outlook over the surrounding gardens and a wonderful place for a coffee in the sunlight as it floods the room on bright sunny mornings. The room is a good size and measures approximately 25 square meters, allowing space for a dining area as well as the lounge arrangement.

The kitchen has a stunning feature arch window and a variety of fitted wall and base units with work surfaces over and inset stainless steel sink with drainer. There is also a built in cooker and space for a fridge freezer, dishwasher, and a washing machine.

The Owners Love The current owners have loved the quiet and peaceful setting. It feels as though we are in the middle of nowhere with the surrounding countryside. However, we are just a short drive from either Taunton or Wellington . They particularly love the barbeque and picnic area that is there for the enjoyment of all the residents. It was lovely during the lockdown of 2020 to have outside space to enjoy despite being a basement apartment . They will mostly miss the Worlds End pub, which is situated at the end of the driveway. It is perfect for when we have friends over to visit or just cannot be bothered to cook after a long day! . They have also found the ease of access to the M5 at junction 26 has been really handy.

The bedroom is an excellent size double and again benefits from a large sash window looking out to the gardens. The bathroom is fitted with a three piece suite including WC, washbasin, and P shape bath with shower over.

George Loves I just love the setting of Heatherton Park. Not only is it a very beautiful building, but its geographical location is also excellent with it being just off the A38 between Taunton & Wellington. The flat itself is very tastefully decorated throughout and with its high ceilings and large sash windows, it really has a grand feel. If you are looking for something special on a budget, look no further!

Outside, the property is approached via a sweeping driveway. You enter the Heatherton Park grounds beneath the archway of the gatehouse, which provides vehicle access into the parking area. There is an allocated parking space as well as a number of visitor s spaces. There are a variety of communal external areas to enjoy including lawn gardens, a barbeque picnic area and at the rear of the building, a courtyard area just a few steps outside the door of the apartment.
