Description

" Welcome
This wonderful family home was built for the current owners in 1991. A one off bespoke build using Cotswold stone, particular consideration has been given to the layout of the property to suit a modern family. Each room is well proportioned, and each bedroom is large enough for each family member. Located on the outskirts of Oakley village, in a quiet position, accessed by a small lane, this property seamlessly blends the joy of living in the countryside with modern life and conveniences.
After parking your car on the driveway, you will be welcomed by a charming front garden with shrubs and flower borders and a climbing rose over the front window.

Come on in
From the front door, the hallway opens, with access to the WC and a useful study. This is the perfect place for working from home, away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the house.
The kitchen is well equipped and ready to prepare all manner of meals. With shaker style oak units all around and an island in the centre, with space for casual seating, all topped by seamless Corian worktops. There is plenty of room to work and plenty of storage; there is also room for an American style fridge freezer. The kitchen contains an integrated dishwasher, an oven and hob, and a cabinet with glazed doors for your glassware.
To the side of the kitchen, we have a utility room, with units to match the kitchen and plumbing for a washing machine. This keeps the noisy spin cycle out of the kitchen while you are trying to chat. There is also space for a tumble dryer. The back door leads out to the side of the house with access to the front and rear gardens.
The separate dining room offers space for a more formal dining experience, with sliding doors leading into the conservatory.

Garden views
The conservatory, accessed from either the dining room or the kitchen, is where the family gathers and spends most of their time. Thanks to the heating air conditioning, it is a delightful space used all year round. It is a lovely morning breakfast spot as you look out across the garden and a fabulous space to open up when you have friends and family over.

We spend most of our time in the conservatory. Watching the birds and enjoying the flowers in the summer is so lovely.

A moment of calm
The living room has a bay window to the front, and an additional window to the side, which let lots of natural light into the space. The working fireplace really kicks out the heat and is ideal for cosy winter nights. French doors open to give access to the reading room, a separate garden room with doors that open onto the patio. This room was once a playroom for the children and was ideal for keeping toys tidied away and in one space. But now it is a calming room, where you can take a moment with a coffee and a good book, curled up in the armchair.
The reading room was a great playroom for the children when they were little.
Time for bed
The master bedroom has a window with views of fields towards Brill. The ceiling has four Velux windows, allowing golden morning sunlight to stream in. The en suite shower room is modern and tiled in a soft, subtle hue and the walk in shower adds to the sense of calming luxury. There is a WC and the wash hand basin sits within a vanity unit to keep your lotions and potions tidy.
The guest bedroom has a built in wardrobe and an en suite shower room, giving your guests, or perhaps an older child, their own privacy. The en suite with underfloor heating has a shower cubicle, WC, and wash hand basin with a useful shelf for storage.
There are three further bedrooms, each with built in storage wardrobes, ensuring enough space for everyone in the family.
The family bathroom has a heated towel rail and a tiled floor with underfloor heating is there anything better than standing on warm tiles with bare feet? There is a bath for those long luxurious soaks after a busy day and a WC and wash hand basin in a vanity unit.
Glorious Gardens
When the family is over in the summer, everyone spills out into the garden until the sun goes down.
The property is set back from the lane at the front, behind a lawned garden and driveway, which leads to the double garage. There is an EV charging point and remote controlled garage doors for your convenience.

The rear garden is enclosed and private, with a large patio for al fresco lunches and family BBQs. Facing south, the whole garden is a real sun trap, getting the sun‘s rays for most of the day in summer. There is a greenhouse and two wooden sheds for those of you who are green fingered and enjoy growing flowers and vegetables, as well as two very productive apple trees, abundantly growing eaters, and cookers so you can have endless home cooked apple pies.

Out and about
The property sits in a quiet location on the outskirts of Oakley village, where there are endless walking routes from the doorstep and a short stroll into the village itself. You will find a primary school and community run village store and pub. For larger shops and restaurants, Thame is just 7 miles away and has lots of coffee shops, boutiques and Waitrose for your weekly shop. There is the opportunity for your children to take the 11 for entry to Aylesbury Grammar School and local secondary schools as an alternative. There are also many private school options if your budget allows.

For retail therapy, Bicester Luxury Retail Village is less than 10 miles away. The Haddenham and Thame Parkway station is a 15 minute drive away, and trains take 36 minutes to London, perfect if you need to commute to work in the city.
