Middleton coffee shop is a good tip for fantastic coffee, pastries and brunches.

Brockley has nice independent restaurants such as L‘Oculto Cocina and Tai, and cool cocktail wine bars Brickfields and Joyce, and Brockley Brewery of course who deliver.

The Deptford High Street area including Deptford Market Yard is searingly cool with bars, night spots, cafes, restaurants and breweries. We particularly rate Marcella, Isla Rays, Stockton and Villages.

Central New Cross is close, with contemporary art gallery Goldsmiths CCA within the Goldsmiths campus, plus a great variety of pubs; we like The Amersham Arms there opposite NX Station. Meze Mangal further down Lewisham Way serves up good value Turkish grub.

Central Lewishams handy about a mile for mall shopping and markets, plus a great leisure centre pool Glass Mill .

Green space? Stroll to Hilly Fields in seven minutes lovely Ladywell Fields is beyond that , or walk about half an hour for Greenwich Royal Park.
