Description

" In this historic seaside town of Ventnor, this unique Victorian, four bedroom property is situated in the most sought after position on the seafront, less than 3 metres from the beach and in the centre of Ventnor Bay. It has three large sun terraces offering the most spectacular sea views and immediate access to the beach. Built in 1845 by a rare, female architect, the current owner has sensitively renovated it to a very high standard whilst retaining its original features. Externally this property benefits from a large double garage with electronic doors plus additional parking for at least another two cars in the courtyard. This is at the rear, where the courtyard entrance is. Once inside there is a pretty galley kitchen, with lovely solid wood countertops and a butlers sink, which has been effectively utilised to maximise storage space. There's an impressive electric range cooker with seven ring gas hob, a dishwasher and large American style fridge freezer. Next to the kitchen is the dining area which flows through to the lounge with sea views from all the windows and French doors leading out to the terraces. This is a delightful bright space with fantastic vistas. The lounge includes attractive original features, such as the pretty alcoves. There are four bedrooms in this property. The main bedroom suite is very special, having access via French doors into the conservatory so that you are assured of enjoying panoramic ocean views all year round in the utmost comfort and privacy. This suite also benefits from an exceptionally spacious en-suite shower room with an abundance of natural light from the windows. There are two further bathrooms in this property, one of which has a separate bath and shower. From the conservatory, either set of French doors will lead you out to the large wrap around top terrace and then the further two terraces below. There is a hot tub which due to its clever positioning affords complete privacy whilst offering wonderful sea views. The terraces are ideal for alfresco dining or just soaking up the sun. Ventnor is well serviced by public transport, with the numbers 3 and 6 buses taking you to Ryde and Newport respectively. There are also numerous footpaths accessing the beautiful surrounding countryside and along the coastal path to Steephill Cove; a little gem of a place that has a couple of eateries serving Ventnor Bay crab and a gorgeous beach.

What the Owner says:

Sometimes in life you are handed a winning ticket and for me it was buying this fantastic property. By pure chance I was at the right place, at the right time when it became available. It was a rare, unmissable opportunity to be able to live under 3 metres away from the beach in the centre of Ventnor Bay and I knew I had to take it, as mainly these seafront properties are kept within the family. Plus, the incredible bonus was that Ventnor has the best record for the most sunshine hours per day in the uk, due to the micro climate and the Ventnor people are the most genuinely warm-hearted people you could ever find.
"Ventnor is a sun-box - north winds would have to confess that they have not even had a visiting aquaintance with her." Ward Lock Guide
Ventnor is thriving fishing seaside community and an artists haven. Top class restaurants, artisan shops, craft beer, private cinema, pubs and cafes are in abundance plus the fabulous Botanic gardens. The annual Ventnor Carnival and the Ventnor Fringe offer incredible musical concerts, plays and artistic displays of every kind over seven days every summer. It is unmissable.
Sadly, I have come to the time when I must downsize. I have poured my heart and soul into this property and renovated it to a high standard, retaining all the original features. Stunning ocean views surround me all day and each night I go to sleep with the sound of the waves. Every day I feel as if I am on holiday.
