"Overlooking the historic green in Calne, this mid-17th century grandiose house enjoys a wealth of features synonymous with a building of this period. Sheldon House exhibits a dolls house facade with double fronted elevation, central door and three gabled dormers on the top floor. The property was refaced in the late 18th and early 19th century and has been within the same family for just under 60 years.

The design and layout typifies a house from this era with an elegant flagged entrance hall, flanked by two exceptional main front rooms with tall ceilings, moulded lateral beams and behest views over The Green. Worn stone steps lead down to the back of the house where there is a dining room with bay window and a door that leads through to the utility room and outside. The kitchen is fitted with a range of cupboards, an ornate range, useful pantry and scullery; there is ample space to dine and an adjacent porch has doors to both the rear courtyard and drive. There is a cloakroom with through access to an inner courtyard and a lower ground floor cellar.

Head up the dog legged beautifully tactile staircase where there is a dual aspect main bedroom with an en suite shower room immediately in front. Further stairs opposite ascend to a landing where there are three further generous bedrooms and steps down to a family bathroom. The top floor houses three more good-sized bedrooms with a wonderful outlook and access to the attic.
