Harden is a popular village with a variety of local shops and a primary school. Bingley is just a drive of approximately 2 miles away, where there are a number of amenities including a small market, swimming pool, local shops, supermarket, bars and restaurants. Local schools include popular Bingley Grammar and Beck Foot. There is also a central medical centre. The area is popular for visitors who visit the world famous canal 'Five Rise Locks' and 'Yorkshire Moors'. There are nice walks around the village along the river and canal in Bingley and surrounding countryside. There is also the St Ives Country park and Myrtle park. For commuters the B6429 runs though the village and gives access to the A629 leading on to Halifax and beyond. Through Bingley the bypass (A650) opens up the Airedale Valley and make access easier to Skipton, Keighley and Bradford. There are railway stations in Halifax, Bingley and Crossflats.
