"First Choice Estates are highly privileged to welcome to the sale market this outstanding stone built detached family home. The building was originally built in 1872 and was formally The Old Vicarage of St John’s Church in the sought after area of Killingworth village, hence the name The Old Vicarage. The property is situated in a charming and quaint location on route to St Johns Church. The gated entrance into the private grounds is surrounded by stone boundary walls and the courtyard gives parking for numerous vehicles.

The property lies adjacent to a stone built stable block which has a single garage, a workshop and store areas.  There is a second single garage and a boiler house to the side of the property.  The house itself is built under a pitched slate roof with brick chimney stacks.  The majority of the windows have been renovated and have been complimented by original internal shutters at ground and first floor levels. A new gas central heating boiler has also been recently installed to the property.  The gardens and ground surround the stone built building giving great screening and privacy and also giving a southerly facing aspect which extend to circa 0.8 acres and include open lawn areas and many sitting areas and terraces.

The Old Vicarage was purchased by the current owners in 2010 and since this time the house has been extensively remodelled and refurbished to a high standard.  The owners have lovingly carried out tremendous works and renovations to the house, retaining many of its original features with very impressive decoration throughout.

The accommodation includes an entrance vestibule connecting through to the reception hall, which has an elegant staircase linking to the first floor landing.  Beneath the stairs there is a cloakroom/wc.  To the rear of the property there are three principal reception rooms; a large study, an elegant drawing room and an impressive dining room.  Each of these rooms benefit from period fireplaces and captivating views over the gardens.  The fourth reception is a family room to the western elevation with an open fire and a glazed door onto the terrace. Leading on through the hall there is a playroom leading from this area and connecting on in turn to a utility room. The large kitchen is at the front of the house and is fitted with a range of cabinets and built-in appliances, the kitchen also benefits from a good size utility as well as a large walk-in pantry. To the first floor comprises of five double bedrooms.  The master is a substantial size room with fabulous views to the south and a luxurious en-suite bathroom. The first of the guest double bedrooms also benefits from an en-suite bathroom.  The three remaining bedrooms have access to a family bathroom.

This is a prime example of a beautiful vicarage within the North East. Killingworth village is a very well sought after area , having two local coaching inns nearby, as well as linking easily onto the A19 and A1 North and South bound.  There are excellent schools, sports facilities and the race course at Gosforth Park. A unique property which is rare to the market and viewing is strongly advised to avoid disappointment.
