"St Georges was built in the early 1920s by Brigadier General BL Anley and is without doubt one of the most interesting and exceptional period homes in Woking. The house sits at the top of a long private driveway in a wonderfully secluded and elevated setting which makes the most of its southerly orientation to take advantage of the sun and the beautiful open views at the rear of the house. Throughout the house, there are a huge number of beautiful period features that one would hope to find in a property of this stature while all of the beautifully elegant and superbly proportioned rooms are arranged to take advantage of the wonderful views out over the rear garden and the countryside beyond. The house also has a hugely warm and comfortable feel to it and the fact that it has been such an enormously enjoyed home for the current owner for some considerable time, shines through in almost every corner of the house. What is also notable is that the house works extremely well on a practical day to day living basis taking into account the needs of modern day family living as it has an excellent division between the formal reception rooms and the day to day family areas of the house, making it a home that works equally well for entertaining.

At the front of the house, a substantial pillared entrance porch leads into an entrance lobby and from there, into the principal reception hall where a grand, easy rising sweeping staircase leads to the first floor. To one side, the drawing room is a beautifully proportioned bright double aspect room with a substantial bow window that overlooks the side garden, a hugely attractive central fireplace and a further large window that gives a wonderful outlook to the rear garden. The adjacent dining room is likewise of an exceptional size and has a bank of sash windows as well as a door that leads out onto the beautiful sun terrace. In the dining room, there is a further fireplace as well as a rich wooden floor. Adjacent to the dining room, there is a very comfortable study again with a wood floor and sash windows that overlook the terrace and garden. Back in the reception hall, there is a door that leads into a Butler's Pantry which has a large built in glass fronted dresser while a door leads on into the breakfast room. This area is open plan to the kitchen and creates a quite superb family living space as there is ample room for a large breakfast table with further space at the far end for a sitting area which again looks out onto the sun terrace and garden. This is a beautifully bright front to back room with an ornate wooden plate rail and the original bell system for the house."
