"This beautiful home retains the character and ambience associated with the Victorian period, yet with the practicality and layout for today?s informal style of living. There are a few surprises that are not apparent from its traditional exterior and it really is a home for all seasons, with fabulous indoor and outdoor entertaining space.
What started as a traditional 3 up, 2 down cottage was sympathetically extended in 1979, to the side and rear to now provide a very spacious 4 bedroom family home with corresponding ground floor accommodation. In more recent years there has been extensive modernisation, skilfully blending modern design and comforts with the traditional features.
Park on the drive way and step into the large reception hall, which is a room within it self, with ample space for push chairs, coats, shoes and to the rear is a useful guest cloakroom. This leads into the living room, which was formally two separate reception rooms but has been opened up to form a large elegant room, retaining its cast iron fireplace and westerly facing bay window. The addition of the oak floor and plaster ceiling mouldings add to the ambience. To the rear, a door leads into a large open plan kitchen/dining room that is perfect for todays less formal style of living and is a practical space for a growing family. The dining area has ample space for a refectory table that can comfortably seat 10 with fitted bench seating and French doors opening onto the covered deck. A wide arch flows through into the kitchen that has been comprehensively fitted with provision for a range cooker, washing machine, dishwasher & fridge/freezer. To one side is useful a walk-in larder that could easily be converted into a utility room. Step out onto the fabulous covered deck and it is like having another room. Not only it this a excellent area for chilling out after a long day but has a myriad of practical possibilities from drying your clothes, to being a space where the children can paint & play without destroying the house.
To the first floor are four good-sized bedrooms, three being doubles with built-in wardrobes. The main bedroom is a large room with two sash windows to the front that flood the room with natural light. The beautifully appointed family bathroom is fitted with white period style four-piece suite. In addition, there is a separate shower room situated between bedrooms 3 and 4. Council Tax Band: E
