Believed to be one of the oldest houses built in the road, this unique detached family home is situated in an enviable location overlooking the open spaces of Westway Common. Originally designed to front the common and with bay windows to the rear, the property is approached through gated access to a private courtyard sun trap that leads to the front door. On the ground floor there are two separate reception rooms, a rear aspect living room with French doors that opens onto the gardens. The dining room is at the heart of the property with a window to the side and a feature wall with exposed brickwork. The kitchen has been refitted with a range of base and wall units with tiled splashbacks, an integrated oven, hob and hood as well as space for further appliances. Beyond the kitchen is the refitted bathroom with a white suite comprising a wash hand basin and bath and tiled walls with a door through to a separate WC.

On the first floor there are three double bedrooms including the master bedroom with an open outlook over the common and in our opinion the room is large enough to create an en-suite incorporating the over stairs space.

Outside, there is a single garage and parking to the front of the property with gated access to the front garden with patio areas and established plants. To the rear there is a pretty garden with a feature raised pond with pergola and mature hedging as well as artificial grass with established shrubs surrounding.

The property is a short walk away from the bustling High Street and adjoins Westway Common. Caterham on the Hill benefits from a doctors, vets and hospital as well as number of restaurants, takeaways and pubs within the local area. There is a good selection of local shops including a Tesco supermarket within walking distance as well as a high street with a selection of more traditional shops. There are leisure and fitness facilities on the Village and at the de Stafford sports centre whilst Caterham on the Hill is surrounded by miles of open countryside including Happy Valley and the North Downs as well as the adjoining Westway Common. The Surrey National golf course is also nearby. There is a selection of good schools for children of all ages locally in the area. There is a footpath close by that cuts across Queens Park to the top of Church Hill and down to the Valley. More comprehensive facilities can be found in Caterham Valley and there are regular buses nearby to Croydon and Redhill. Frequent trains to London and East Croydon from Caterham or Upper Warlingham."
