The development has quite a rural feel overlooking a village green. As the 2005 winner in the Royal Horticultural Society 'Britain in Bloom' competition, Newcastle town features several parks including the Queen's Gardens and Grosvenor Gardens - a park in the centre of one of the town's roundabouts, cleverly designed below road level! For entertainment, the New Vic Theatre, Europe's first purpose-built theatre in the round, just outside the town centre, offers a full programme of entertainment.
