"A spacious and well presented detached chalet style bungalow situated in a convenient location along the Polden Hills. Attractive gardens, substantial garage workshop, ample parking and outstanding views.

An attractive chalet style bungalow which we believe dates back to the 1930 s. The property has been updated by the current owners over the last 7 years with the addition of an upgraded kitchen in 2019, wet room in 2023, replacement of most windows and doors in 2023, newly installed boiler in 2024 and new roof in 2019. Situated in a prominent position on the edge of the Polden Hills with outstanding views over neighbouring countryside and the Somerset levels.

The spacious and flexible accommodation is well presented and briefly comprises; an entrance door opens into a T shaped hallway with doors to all ground floor rooms, staircase rising to the first floor useful storage cupboard under. The lounge dining room is triple aspect with bay window to the front elevation and French doors opening out to the rear garden. The kitchen is well fitted with a modern range of wall, base and drawer units with built in double oven and hob. The kitchen opens into a breakfast room with French doors leading into the conservatory, which had a replacement solid roof in 2019. Also on the ground floor you will find a wet room with bath and shower, two double bedrooms and a dressing room with a range of built in wardrobes. In addition and leading from the kitchen is a useful utility, covered lobby with door to the rear garden and internal door into the substantial garage workshop.

On the first floor there is a family bathroom, useful eaves storage and two further double bedrooms with built in wardrobes.

An early viewing is essential to fully appreciate this lovely family home in a desirable village setting.

The property is situated on the edge of the village of Ashcott, which lies at the eastern end of the Polden Hills. These hills run more or less east to west and at the eastern end are the towns of Street and Glastonbury with Clarks Village Shopping Centre and Millfield School at Street. The village itself boasts an excellent primary school, nursery, sports playing field, active village hall and two public houses.
At the western end of the Polden ridge you will find access to the M5 motorway at junction 23 and also the town of Bridgwater. Further south the county town of Taunton with a direct line to London Paddington and an extensive range of shopping, leisure and scholastic facilities. International airports are available at both Bristol and Exeter both within approximately one hour s drive.

The gardens to the rear are well stocked with an abundance of mature shrubs, trees and flower beds, along with a vegetable plot and greenhouse. There is a useful shed garden store. A raised patio area provides a perfect space for alfresco dining and summer entertaining whilst enjoying the surrounding countryside views. To the front, a driveway provides parking and leads to the large garage workshop which also has the benefit of a WC. The garage door is currently blocked off but could be easily re opened."
