Situation

Jackfield is a small, long established village style community pleasantly situated in the Severn Gorge on the southern bank of the River Severn. It is an area steeped in the history of the Industrial Revolution and is located a little over one mile east of the renowned and historic township of Ironbridge which is now a World Heritage Site. It is some six miles south of the wide range of facilities at Telford town centre.

The property

Is beautifully presented and much improved, benefitting from many period features.  The accommodation comprises a through entrance hallway which has beautiful period style tiled flooring, balustrade staircase ascending to the first floor landing, access to two reception rooms and large breakfast kitchen.  The larger reception room

(lounge) has a lovely period style fireplace and sash window with outlook towards the front.  The second reception room

(dining room) also has a period style fireplace, double opening doors leading to the breakfast kitchen and exposed timber flooring.  The breakfast kitchen has a country style range of base and wall units with soft closing draws, granite style work surfaces, Range Master cooker and built-in American style fridge freezer.  A door leads to the utility room which has a work surface with wall units over, useful broom store cupboard, space for washing machine, access to the rear garden and access to the cloakroom/wc.

 

On the first floor there is a galleried landing giving access to three double bedrooms and house bathroom.  The master bedroom has a feature fire grate and a luxurious en-suite bathroom with Victorian style roll top bath with claw feet, separate shower cubicle, low level wc and pedestal wash hand basin.  Bedrooms two and three both have sash windows.

Stairs continue to the second floor landing which gives access to two further bedrooms and shower room/wc. 

 

Outside

The Mount is approached off Calcutts Road via double opening metal gates leading to the large gravelled driveway which gives access to the double garage and boiler/store room.  The front garden is mainly laid to lawn with various inset shrubs and trees including magnolia tree; a pathway at the side of the garage gives pedestrian access to the garage and the utility room.  The rear garden has a well laid lawn, brick wall boundary and the benefit of outside lighting.

 

How to get there – from Ironbridge take the B4373 road towards Broseley; proceed over the Free Bridge by the Robin Hood Inn and bear right and proceed around the hairpin bend; at the traffic lights turn left into Calcutts Road – the driveway to the property is approximately 100 metres on the left hand side.

 

Tenure – we are advised the property is Freehold.

 

Services – we are advised all mains services are connected. Gas fired central heating system.
