Description LOCATION
Old Tong House stands in the middle of the Shropshire village of Tong which is a small country hamlet situated just off the M54 and A41 corridor. The house stands within easy reach of the highly regarding village of Albrighton which stands in a lovely position within beautiful surrounding Shropshire countryside and which is well served by schooling in both sectors with Birchfield Preparatory School, St Dominic's of Brewood, Tettenhall College, Wolverhampton Grammar School and Adams Grammar in Newport all being worthy of note.

Old Tong House is a beautiful black and white timbered cottage providing captivating accommodation of character over two storeys with a tile hung roof with three eyebrow-dormers. The cottage is reputed to date from 1465 and was originally three houses which have now been amalgamated into one superb residence.
The cottage has an interesting juxtaposition of front and rear elevations with a painted brick and timbered facade above a sandstone plinth together with a sandstone, gabled rear elevation.

There is a cloakroom with a white suite with a decorative floral pattern and a quarry tiled floor. A door from the breakfast room leads to the inner hall with a raftered ceiling and a door to the lounge which provides a fine formal reception room with a beamed ceiling, exposed wall timbering, exposed panel of wattle and daub, a full height chimney breast with open grate and tiled hearth and a radiator. An open doorway from the lounge leads to a study with three windows, oil fired central heating boiler and a stable door.
A staircase with exposed wall timbering rises from the lounge to bedroom 1 which is under-eaves with a decorative cast iron fireplace, a radiator and exposed wall timbering together with a leaded front window. Bedroom 3 has a leaded window to the front, a radiator and exposed wall timbering and leads into bedroom 2 with a rear window, a radiator and exposed brick chimney breast.
