"The Thrashing House, one of three recently converted large barns stands in a tiny village off the A49 Ludlow to Hereford road on the Shropshire/Herefordshire border.
This very deceptive house must be seen inside to fully appreciate the superb spacious and excellently presented accommodation.
Whilst the two storey building, which has two staircases, offers splendid family sized accommodation it also provides the advantage of an optional holiday cottage which, if required, is self contained with a separate access. Indeed, the present owners have enjoyed the letting of this cottage achieving a high remuneration through its high graded facilities.
A considerable amount of the original barn is very much in evidence within the building. Exposed roof and wall timbers provide a very attractive contrast and complement to the modern amenities. The fabulously fitted kitchen includes wall to wall units with a double oven, hob and hood as well as built in fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The spacious living room has a wood burning stove supplementing the oil fired central heating system. The part of the building which can be used either as a holiday let or additional accommodation has a kitchen/utility room as well as a sitting room/study or indeed a fifth ground floor bedroom. The first floor has four bedrooms and two bathrooms with 'spa' baths. The third and fourth bedrooms and second bathroom are approached by a second staircase and serve as guests' accommodation.
The property is designed for low maintenance with level easily managed surrounding gardens, a double garage and extensive further car parking areas.
Among other attractive features is its location in this tiny cul-de-sac village where there is a 13th century Norman church and a small number of cottages and houses. There are views from the upper floors to the surrounding countryside. The historic town of Ludlow is within three miles and there is good access to Shrewsbury to the North, Hereford to the South and to the West Midlands conurbation which is about 50 minutes drive.
Here is an opportunity to enjoy the character of a rustic property combined with all the comforts of modern living.
