It is situated opposite the 13th Century Castle, once occupied by Henry VIII's older brother and his bride Catherine of Aragon. Although within little more than fifty yards of the town's Castle Square it looks out onto the tree lined gardens outside the castle walls and has views towards the hills of Whitcliffe beyond the town.

So many of Ludlow's Listed buildings in this conservation area lack the benefits of a modern age lacking both gardens and motor car facilities. This house has those benefits with generous space for parking at least three cars as well as a former coach house garage in its walled garden.
