An extended modern detached house benefiting from uPVC double glazing and gas central heating. The accommodation briefly comprises: entrance hallway, lounge, dining room, fitted kitchen, study area, four bedrooms plus downstairs bedroom and shower room, bathroom, separate WC, driveway providing parking space, garage, front and rear gardens, burglar alarm.

Adaptations to this property have been made which make it suitable for any family with a member who has a disability. All facilities which make life easier for a person with disabilities are also beneficial to the able bodied.
The circulation space required by a user of an adult sized wheelchair has been taken into account in the planning of these facilities.
The whole of the ground floor is accessible to a person who is a wheelchair user. Doorways are discretely wider than standard.
The downstairs bedroom has been planned to accommodate either a double or twin beds.
The ceiling of the extension has been constructed to safely accommodate overhead ceiling hoisting (e.g. Wessex) throughout the bedroom and bathroom: it would be possible to remove the dividing wall and continue hoisting through into the bathroom, if necessary, with minimal disruption.
The downstairs en suite bathroom
Is designed to allow sufficient space for a carer to assist if required.
Lights are switched separately from the extractor fan to minimise disturbance.
The shower is wheelchair/shower chair/toilet chair accessible, and has a Harmer drain.

The toilet is a Geberit bidet toilet which can be adjusted simply to either be sat upon or for the use of a toilet chair. It will wash and dry at the press of a button.
Two doorways to the downstairs bathroom are hung so that it is possible to attend to someone in the bathroom even if they are obstructing one of the doors
The kitchen has been laid out to provide easy access to all facilities by a person who uses a wheelchair. It has also been designed so that if required, it could be divided to provide a separate kitchen area as part of an independent "granny flat" with access from either the front or back of the house.
Ramping to the front door and from the back door to the front of the house and to the garden extend that accessibility.
Should a person with disabilities live at the house, a reduction in Council tax banding is allowed after assessment by the Borough Council."
