The Area

Togston is a quiet hamlet in Northumberland, situated 1 mile from the tradional harbour town of Amble and just 2 miles from the picturesque village of Warkworth. Amble is located at the mouth of the River Coquet. The town is enjoying a boost in popularity and the impressive marina has contributed to this. In addition to the marina there are various restaurants and coffee shops as well as the everyday shopping and recreational facilities of a small town. In addition the working harbour is now also a thriving hub for the new business ?pods? which are home to various local and talented people to showcase their handicrafts.
Warkworth is a sought after village in Northumberland and is well known for its medieval castle and the River Coquet. Facilities in the village include pubs, hotels, specialist shops including a patisserie and chocolate shop and galleries. The village is host to Warkworth Cricket Club, formed in 1874. A mere 10 minute walk from the village takes you to the golf course and superb sandy beach.

To the first floor, taking advantage of the views towards Coquet Island, there are 2 well-proportioned, dual aspect bedrooms (both with eaves storage) and which are served by a well-appointed cloakroom. The property oozes quality and features plantation shutters, designer light fittings and flooring and handmade solid wood brace and ledge country style doors. Outside, the cottage is approached by a pretty, well stocked cottage garden. There is another beautiful display of shrubs to the rear garden which also has an access door to the detached stone garage.
In all, a very special cottage which would be a stylish main residence or an easily maintained second home.

From Alnwick take the A1 south, after approximately 11 miles turn left onto the B6345 signposted Amble and Warkworth. Just before the village of Felton turn right signposted Amble/ Warkworth. Continue along the B6345 for approximately 5 miles, passing through Acklington, to a T-junction, then turn left signposted Amble, passing through Togston. After approximately 0.5 miles, turn right. Keeping Togston Hall on the right and Togston Hall Farmhouse on left, continue down the lane, over the sleeping policemen and park at the end of the lane facing the sea.
