Main Description
79 Main Street is an impressive semi-detached Victorian three/four-bedroom house located in the popular seaside village of Spittal, Berwick upon Tweed. The house was built during the 1860s and has spacious, bright and well-proportioned rooms with original Victorian detailing and features including ornate cornicing and ceiling roses, deep skirtings, bay windows, working shutters and original pitch pine woodwork. The house is in good order and the interior has been decorated to a high standard, complementing the period features with neutral contemporary shades.

The entrance porch is floored with original tessellated tiling and a beautiful stained-glass inner doorway opens into a good length hall with an understairs cupboard, with doors leading off to a reception room, kitchen, en-suite bedroom and a light-filled garden conservatory room to the rear, which runs the width of the house. On the ground floor, the elegant reception room boasts an original Victorian ornate cast-iron fireplace with solid marble surround, wall and ceiling dimmable lighting, wall cupboard and bay window facing the private front garden. Behind the reception room is a large, attractive double bedroom with fully tiled en-suite shower room with underfloor heating, electric shower and white sanitary units.
