"Arguably the most revered village location in West Lancashire, Halsall sits just half a mile from Scarisbrick Hall school. With Ormskirk market town just a short drive away and easy access to Liverpool within half an hour, Halsall is the perfect rural village to escape the hustle and bustle of work. The most notable aspect of the village is the Grade 1 14th Century St Cuthbert's church. The Leeds-Liverpool canal runs through the village and on November 5th 1770, the Hon Charles Mordaunt ceremonially dug the first sod in Halsall. This is commemorated by Thompson Dagnall's sculpture, "Halsall Navvy" which sits at the Saracen's Head canal side public house and restaurant.Coming to the sales market courtesy of Entwistle Green is this quite unique opportunity to purchase one of the landmarks of Halsall. Designed and built by the current vendor using materials from a number of buildings including barns and churches, the original features from these properties are evident throughout. Built around the feature fireplace which was once owned by the owner of the Titanic, nothing has been completed without meticulous planning in mind. Beginning with the hidden aspect of the properties position, a long, winding driveway leads you to the front courtyard with an array of shrubbery and trees. Furthermore, there is a quadruple detached garage allowing storage or parking space. Entry to the home is through double 'castle-like' doors (which are a theme throughout the house) and into the convenient entrance hall. Walking through to the main lounge you are immediately struck by the sublime nature of the property with beams running through. A study is well placed beneath the stairs to the first floor. The lounge is the perfect 'Christmas room' with a brick built feature fireplace with an open fire underneath. From the lounge to the left you enter the main living quarters of the property with a music room set between the first of five bedrooms which comes with an en-suite. A room to entertain is next up with the family room offering the main attraction of the 'Titanic fireplace'. This leads seamlessly to the kitchen-diner which comes with exposed brick and fully fitted as standard. From the kitchen diner you are offered access via a spiral staircase to the playroom on the first floor. Off the kitchen diner is also a well placed study with views over the rear courtyard. The rear dining room certainly is a sight to behold with stunning feature fireplace and magnificent beams to the ceiling. Leading from the dining room to another hallway, shower room and utility which could be utilised as a Nanny's quarters. Heading back to the lounge but instead going to the right side of the property you enter a beautiful drawing room which again leads to a further games room, bathroom and the second double bedroom. Continuing the tour to the first floor landing from the lounge you have a large storage room which is currently used as a drying room as it features the pipes for the house. A wonderful aspect to the two main bedrooms on the first floor is a viewing hatch set between the two and overlooking the landing. As the vendor explained, it is ideal for when you have small children as you can check on their sleeping without leaving your bed! The master bedroom is the main feature of the first floor with its superb views and real manor feel. This room boasts an en-suite with bath, basin and WC. The master bedroom leads to the fifth bedroom which in turn leads to a storage room and finally the playroom offering access back down to the kitchen-diner. Externally, there is a field available by negotiation. Quite simply, viewing is essential!
