What The Owner Says
When I was looking to buy a house I had a tight budget and a good idea of what I wanted and where I wanted to live. I wanted a respectable area that had a good mix of high range and lower first time buyer houses so that my investment had a good chance of growth. I wanted to be close to amenities but not on a main road. Not having lived in the area before and before the onslaught of the internet I visited many houses in the area. I was drawn to the house because of its location it was close to shops and amenities, the motorway link, the tram and Heaton Park but tucked away in a cul-de-sac off the main drag. As it turned out it was a good choice because its very quiet and not affected by noise from the road or the tram. The house itself needed a lot doing to it which I also wanted as I figured this would also improve my chances of making a profit as well as being able to adapt it to my own style. Its been 16 years since I bought it and although I have done quite a lot to it new kitchen, new windows and doors, new roof and damp proof course and knocking a wall down to make a kitchen/dining room there is still room for the new owners to put their stamp on the property. I have really enjoyed living here and it is only circumstances that find me having to sell it and I hope it brings the new owner as much enjoyment.
