Essex Close is a cul-de-sac located on the favoured south side of Tunbridge Wells, off Broadmead, just over a mile from the High Street and Pantiles areas of the town, which have many shops, boutiques, cafes and restaurants. Tunbridge Wells mainline station offers commuter services to London in under an hour. In Tunbridge Wells town centre there is the Royal Victoria Place shopping mall and the Calverley Road precinct, where many of the larger retailers are represented. There is also further shopping out of town, as well as an Odean multi-screen cinema and bowling, at the Knights Park Leisure Centre. Tunbridge Wells is generally well favoured with good schools, both state and independent, for children of all ages.
