Description

12 West Cross is a delightful detached timber framed cottage understood to date in part from circa 1850 when it was original built as the gardener s cottage to one of the nearby town houses. The current owners have imaginatively extended, remodelled and renovated the property using a combination of both new and reclaimed materials, to create an interesting and energy efficient home.

The accommodation comprises an entrance hall featuring an impressive sealed unit multi paned window overlooking the well screened cottage garden and a reclaimed curved French oak staircase rising up to the first floor. In the oldest part of the cottage is the sitting room with a Burley wood burning stove, this room opens through to an adjoining study. There is also a well proportioned dining room with French doors opening to the garden.

The light and airy vaulted kitchen breakfast family room is an excellent family space, with various fitted cupboards, some freestanding cupboards are available by separate negotiation . Additionally there are boys and girls Grammar Schools at Ashford plus Ashford School and The Kings School Canterbury.

Headcorn station 8.6 miles has train services running approximately every 30 minutes to London. A high speed train service runs between Ashford 12.1 miles and London St Pancras in about 37 minutes.

The M25 can be accessed via the M20 at junction 10 providing links to Gatwick and Heathrow airports and other motorway networks.
