"Built in the 1920s this Arts and Crafts detached property set back from Holly Lane and is full of character. The outside includes multicoloured brickwork, chimneys, varied roof lines, leaded light windows and an original front door while inside there are exposed beams, fireplaces, original oak flooring, bay windows, picture rails and wall panelling.

Oak doors from the spacious reception hall lead to the ground floor accommodation including a cloakroom, the elegant sitting room with French doors to the garden and an impressive fireplace with an eco friendly log burner and the bright triple aspect kitchen dining family room with a Smallbone designed kitchen and traditional dining and seating areas. The kitchen has engineered oak flooring, a gas Aga, gorgeous units painted in Farrow & Ball Paean Black with granite worktops housing additional appliances, a vast central island breakfast bar, an open pantry and French doors to a veranda. We thought this would be our forever home and we updated the kitchen and bathrooms accordingly but our circumstances have changed so we are moving closer to family. We love the peaceful surroundings and access to local parks and the seafront while the shops in Northdown road provide for all our immediate necessities. We are near a local pub restaurant and Margate Old Town is awash with artisan shops, galleries, cafes and eateries as well as the Turner Gallery and Dreamland. Cliftonville and Margate provide a variety of independent shops, high street stores and supermarkets, a hospital and the fast train from Margate station can take you to London in under an hour and a half. Cliftonville primary school is Outstanding and there are local secondary schools as well as grammar schools in nearby towns.
