"This attractive and modern house is situated within a truly unique development within Hythe. All other local retirement developments consist solely of apartments. So if you need the extra support, you do not have to give up a generously sized house to live in a small apartment!

After driving into the residents’ car park, it is a short walk to your own front door through an attractive courtyard. The wow factor starts from the moment you enter as this home is very pleasantly presented. The living room has plenty of space and overlooks the courtyard. There is also a separate dining room, which is located close to the kitchen, and a conservatory. The dining room can certainly double up as an extra bedroom if you have mobility problems and there is the added benefit of the extra downstairs shower room.

Walking up the wide staircase, which was designed to take a stair lift, you arrive at a large landing that has doorways leading to two large double bedrooms and the main shower room. This home is not short on storage and has its own part boarded loft.

The maintenance charge of £1632.18 includes the ground rent, external maintenance of the house, the upkeep of the pretty communal grounds, water charges and buildings insurance.

I moved here 11 years ago and have been really happy. I have found the other residents both supportive and friendly and will be really sad to leave. I am moving solely to be closer to my family.

I chose this development as it was both modern and low maintenance and I was most certainly not ready for residential care. I am still very independent but I do have the safety net and support of Philbeach. I looked at the retirement flats and smaller properties on other developments and found that they had extremely high maintenance charges in comparison to here. I have certainly been lucky!
