The Property
This modern detached house provides an excellent balance between living and bedroom space. The ground floor has a glazed open porch over a pair of doors that open into a spacious entrance hall, which is fitted with a riven slate floor and polished wooden seating, with storage below and stairs that rise to the first floor. The first class floorplan is laid out ideally for family living and entertaining alike and has a large open plan live in style sitting kitchen dining room which is 33 x 29 overall and has the sitting room with a large side aspect window, fitted oak floor and a feature double sided centralised fireplace. This opens into the dining area which provides ample space for a large dining table, a window to the side aspect and grey aluminium sliding doors open onto the rear deck. The kitchen is fitted to two walls, with a range of dark fronted units topped with glass worktops and upstands and an impressive island unit with a gas hob, double ovens, American style fridge freezer and dishwasher. An ingenious pair of doors open into a cleverly concealed utility laundry boiler room, which keeps the appliances out of the way. There are two further separate reception spaces; the first being a family room snug, which is dual aspect, and bedroom five the study, which could be used solely as a study space, with an adjacent shower room. The sitting kitchen dining room is heated by under floor heating. The stairs turn to the first floor with a side aspect window, providing plenty of natural light. Whiteshute Lane is a quiet leafy lane within sought after St. Cross which is among one of the most desirable positions in central Winchester. Just to the south of the city, St. Cross is particularly well known for its access to The Water Meadows and the pleasant walks both the city and country alike, encompassing the ancient parts of the city, the college and Cathedral.
