"Netley Castle is a property of rare charm with historical connections as far back as the Tudor dynasty, when it was a fort built by King Henry VIII.
The castle was transformed in the 1880's into a Victorian Gothic style castle adding castellated wings and towers, then in 1999 the castle was converted into luxury apartments, and No 1 forms part of a newly built addition in 2001.
The apartment offers superb light and spacious accommodation with stunning views to Southampton Water. This is the only apartment with its own ground floor patio area with direct access to the communal grounds and nearby garages.
As you enter the Castles grounds through private electrical gates, you approach this imposing yet elegant property which faces directly onto Southampton Water.
The accommodation begins as you enter the communal entrance lobby with a door through to the communal hallway. The apartment's private entrance hallway has a ceramic tiled floor and wall mounted video entry system. Double French doors lead to the spacious and elegant drawing room which has two sets of double glazed French doors leading onto a raised patio area which offers spectacular views of Southampton Water. An archway leads from the drawing room to the dining room and from here a further archway provides access to the kitchen, designed and fitted to a very high specification. The modern range of cupboards, units and drawers are complemented by integrated Bosch appliances.
The master bedroom has integral wardrobes, three double glazed windows with water views and an ensuite bathroom with slate effect tiled floor. Bedrooms two and three also have integral wardrobes. There is a and jill' door from bedroom three to the bathroom, which again has a separate shower cubicle, and another separate W.C. leads directly from the hallway.
The private patio is enclosed by metal railings and has water views. There is an outside tap, lighting and power. Steps lead down to the communal grounds which extend to four acres and include landscaped gardens and ample parking spaces. The garage for the apartment is part of a block, with and up and over door, light, power and a fully boarded loft.
There is a fascinating detached hexagonal outbuilding called the Ice House alongside the apartment and this is also available to purchase. The portion of the communal gardens located immediately beyond the private patio is rarely used by anyone other than the owner of Number 1.
