"Where to begin? This bungalow has so much to offer that words really will not do it justice. It has tremendous space set in a good size plot and is situated in the very heart of the village of Old Basing, sought after for its attractive character, amenities and good local schools.

It is all complemented by stunning gardens that have been opened to the public as part of the 'National Garden Scheme'. In addition there are outbuildings including a large garage, workshop and stores, providing opportunities for home working or hobbies.

The bungalow is approached off a single-track lane from 'The Street' in Old Basing, directly opposite the church. The wide and open plan front garden neatly frames the property, which dates from the 1920's with later extensions. The internal layout separates the living space from the sleeping area and the whole property has been immaculately presented by the owners.

There are four bedrooms in all, three of them being decent size doubles with the fourth currently being used as a study. There is an en-suite shower room to bedroom one and a larger family shower room having a contemporary white suite with 'high gloss' finish vanity tops and storage cupboards. In addition there is a cloakroom, which has been fitted to a similarly high standard.

The main living space starts to the front of the bungalow with a very sociable living room, which has an attractive focal point of a recessed inglenook housing a log burner inset into a brick fireplace. Either side of the fireplace there are delightful stained glass windows. There is open access into the dining room and further on into a stunning garden room that has large French doors offering views out across the gardens to the rear. The high vaulted ceiling here enhances the sense of space.

The kitchen/breakfast room has been thoughtfully planned to incorporate an abundance of cupboards and work surfaces, with a handy utility area and plenty of room left to take a breakfast table. The change in ceiling levels provides further visual interest.

The gardens to the rear are really very pretty indeed and have a wonderful blend and variety of planting through which meander well-tended lawns. Adjoining the back and side of the bungalow is a large paved terrace and timber deck, ideal for sitting or dining out. At the end of the garden, hidden behind a well-trimmed hedge, is a large vegetable plot with a number of raised beds.

To the side of the property is a large brick built garage with plenty of parking on a gravel drive. There are also timber gates leading into the rear garden. Tucked to one side of the garden is a substantial wooden workshop built on a brick plinth and this has electric power and an attached store shed, which could be incorporated into the workshop, with a further storage shed to the rear.

The bungalow also has good 'eco-credentials' with the heating and hot water systems being powered by an 'air source' heat pump with additional input from solar panels on the rear roof pitch. There is also an internal ventilation system and a rain water 'harvesting' set up, providing plenty of water for the gardens.

The location of this home is great. It sits right in the middle of Old Basing village, which has an attractive core of historical buildings and a range of small shops, three pubs with restaurants and infant and junior schools (both rated as outstanding in their latest 'Ofsted' reports). The major town of Basingstoke lies around two miles to the west and this has a mainline rail service into London Waterloo of around 45 minutes. The M3 motorway is easily reached at junctions 5 or 6.
