"Potential chain-free sale. Highly convenient for the town centre and train station, an older style detached bungalow of character requiring modernisation in a level residential road with a garage and on-site parking.

Description
The property offers single storey accommodation with all the rooms independently accessed from the central hall yet also has potential, subject to any planning or building control, for enlargement including the two floored attic areas, which of both have windows. Additional characteristics retained include fireplaces, bay windows, several picture rails and recessed panelled doors. The bungalow already has the benefit both of a gas heating system with the majority of the radiators incorporating thermostatic valves, and of double glazing with fanlight style windows. The on-site space for cars is an added bonus particularly with a property so close to the town centre and all its attributes.

Location
Nestling just away from the town's thoroughfares, the bungalow is in the proximity of the top of the town within 350 yards of Crown Hill, the High Street and is within a section of Victoria Road consisting of mainly detached and varying aged properties. The station with its commuter link to London Waterloo (minimum journey time 67 minutes) is within 0.35 mile with an adjacent Waitrose store. The immediate neighbourhood includes St Lawrence Church with its primary school and Amery Hill Senior School opposite, Alton Infant School, Alton College, shops on Normandy Street, the 17th Century Quaker Meeting House, Palace Cinema, St Mary's Roman Catholic Church and Alton House Hotel. The town centre has major and family shops, stores such as Boots, Iceland, M & S and Sainsbury's, weekly open air markets and specialist/farmers events, a library, cultural facilities, churches, restaurants, hotels and inns. A bustling market town at the head of the Wey Valley, Alton has a long and interesting history. It was the site of action in the English Civil War and Jane Austen lived in nearby Chawton. For health and leisure, there is a sports centre, doctors surgeries, fitness studios and two golf courses on the outskirts.
