This property is steeped in history. In the 17th century it used to be a pub called The Stag which serviced travellers who crossed the Bishop's Weir into Alresford from the north. After the 1689 fire, Thomas Clarke fixed a furnace for brewing in one of the lower rooms on the east side and by 1743 the Inn was referred to as the Stag's Head. It stayed this way until the beginning of the 20th century when the licensed lapsed and the property came into the hands of the Evans family. It was then turned into the local butchers until about 20 years ago when Evans Butchers moved to West Street. The property is now 3 residences of which this one is part of.

OUTSIDE The outside of the property is a large shared driveway and no specific allocated parking. The parking is on a first come first served basis, however there is parking available in Broad Street on a permit basis and more off road parking just opposite the property.

DIRECTIONS The property is located at the bottom of picturesque Broad Street. Follow the road around the first bend towards Old Alresford and this property is on the left hand side almost opposite 'The Globe on the Lake' inn. The front door is along the shared gravel driveway on the left.
