The Old Tannery was originally a working tannery for the large Tan y Bwlch Estate in Maentwrog going back to the 1700's & 1800's. It has been traced back to 1830 but is believed to be older but it is understood that some the original paperwork for the estate was lost following a fire at Tan y Bwlch. The Old Tannery was converted into a residential property in 1960 when the estate was split up and three lots were bought and brought together. The land on which the property stands was also landscaped at the same time bringing together many of the unique features seen today. This is a great opportunity to purchase this truly unique property set within spacious grounds comprising of lawn areas, trees and woodland.
