This place is for somebody who wants a top-end city centre lifestyle in the middle of the village-like Northern Quarter of central Manchester.

This home blends the old and the new, fusing reddy-brown Georgian brickwork with modern-day metal and glass.

Here are some numbers about the property;

14b Turner St gives you 1886 square feet over the second, third, and fourth floors. You can have a shower in three places, sleep in three double bedrooms, and if you have even more guests there are four toilets, but there are only two lounges, one utility room, one bath, and one terrace.

This property is intrinsically linked to the history of Manchester. Turner St was the old epicentre of Manchester on Shudehill, and as such is just off High street. The property was completed in 1758 as detailed on the original deeds. It was part of the original 'Cottonopolis' and was designed with North-facing floor to ceiling windows which were typical of artisan buildings enabling even light throughout the day for consistent production. Even into the 20th century it was a shoemaker's atelier, and typically shoes would have been produced on the top few floors, sold on the street-level shop and the workers would have stayed in the basement along with raw materials.

The property was recently sympathetically renovated. All the original brick walls were kept and even revealed further by the removal of all the radiators which were replaced by underfloor heating throughout. The current electricity provider is Ecotricity, which means this property has good eco-credentials.

Viewing is strongly recommended.
