Beautiful both inside and out, this four bedroom semi detached Victorian house is full of unique details, from a spectacular kitchen extension with a breathtaking atrium and four newly fitted bathrooms to private parking and a landscaped garden with a large purpose built garden room. All this is within walking distance of Underground and Overground services and open green spaces.

Renovated and remodelled from top to bottom to an incredibly high standard, the high ceilinged rooms are well proportioned and tastefully decorated. A considered warm palette of Farrow & Ball, Coat and Little Greene colours has been used throughout, adding personality and playfulness, while textural materials such as exposed brick, micro cement and veined marble give depth and character.

Furthermore, original features like coved ceilings and cast iron fireplaces have been meticulously restored, while contemporary updates including herringbone wood flooring, statement tiling, bespoke integrated storage, Crittall style doors, oversized skylights and designer lighting combine to create a stylish, cohesive feel.

On a practical level, the house has been completely rewired, with new bronze sockets and switches. A new heating system and boiler have been installed, alongside column style radiators, and all windows and doors, both internal and external, have been replaced.

Shielded from the street by a low wall with cast iron gates leading to the grey stone paved drive large enough for two cars , the house has kerb appeal in spades. It greets you with a revived yellow London Stock brick frontage featuring stone sills painted in London Stone by Farrow & Ball to the bay and timber sash windows.

A monochrome patterned tiled path leads past long flowerbeds to a recessed porch, where you ll find a traditional style timber panelled door in striking Bronze Red by Little Greene, with brass door furniture, stained glass panels, and a transom overhead.

STEP INSIDE

Setting the tone for the calm, elegant d cor to come, the hallway is painted in Jitney a soft stone shade by Farrow & Ball. Traditional style patterned floor tiles echo those used outside, while a globe pendant emphasises the high coved ceiling.

In the reception room to your right, the tiles segue into pale toned wood herringbone flooring. Painted in Old Street by COAT a warm aubergine , this sophisticated space feels cosy yet light, thanks to a large bay with new timber sashes and white painted caf style louvred shutters.

Lovely reinstated or revived period details include wall panelling, decorative ceiling coving, a floor standing column style radiator in the bay, a ceiling rose with Solara linen pendant by Lights & Lamps, and a working fireplace with a cast iron surround and black stone hearth.

The hallway leads into the amazing 38 foot, open plan kitchen, dining and living space. Atrium like, it s flooded with light from a huge central lantern. It is further lit by three fantastic sets of aluminium framed Crittall style glazed doors with a three point locking system to the garden and side return walkway, giving it an incredibly special feel.

The floor here is polished micro cement for a seamless finish, allowing details such as stunning patterned exposed brickwork to take centre stage. The kitchen walls are Shaded White while tactile brass handles by Corston Architectural Detail and a marble look quartz worktop finish the bespoke cabinetry in Broccoli Brown by Farrow & Ball.

Comfortably seating four, the large island features an inset stainless steel sink with a Fohen boiling water tap. Integrated appliances include a Smeg hob with concealed overhead extractor, a Bosch double oven, and a Hotpoint dishwasher, fridge freezer and washer dryer. The boiler is also housed here.

A pair of floor standing black column style radiators frame the rear doors. At the same time, a Pooky four tiered Starsky chandelier gracing the atrium combines with spotlights, a pendant, and a trio of porcelain cupola lights from Lights & Lamps over the island to allow you to set the mood for dining, relaxing or entertaining.

You ll also find an understairs storage cupboard to the side and a WC, colour drenched in Broccoli Brown , with white herringbone floor tiles, an Arabescato marble basin, and a close coupled loo.

Returning to the hallway, take the stairs, with a neutral wool runner, to the first floor. The bannister rail and spindles have been picked out in Deep Reddish Brown by Farrow & Ball, perfectly complementing the tones of the front door, while a globe pendant mirrors the one at the entrance.

Spanning the front of the house, the first double bedroom is painted in Little Greene s Affogato and is lit by two large timber sash windows fitted with louvred shutters for a restful feel. Sanded and restored original floorboards run underfoot. A pair of column style radiators, a modern wall light, and a central ceiling rose with an oversized pendant complete the space.

You ll find two more good sized double bedrooms on this floor, decorated in Farrow & Ball hues. The first is painted in restful Borrowed Light and looks out to the side return through a charming timber framed window. The second features a colour blocked scheme with Fake Tan and Dimity and has a similar window with garden views. Both have coved ceilings with roses, designer pendant lights, and column style radiators.

The family bathroom also enjoys garden views through a tall window and lies to the rear of the house, with a beautiful micro cement finish on the walls and floor. Pale sage tiles by Mandarin Stone provide the backdrop to a shower bath with a frameless glass screen and Abacus Iso Pro brass waterfall shower, and a luxe wide black marble floating vanity is home to a pair of countertop sinks with matching wall mounted taps. A concealed cistern loo sits discreetly behind a tiled dividing wall, but you ll also find a column style radiator, Industville pendant, and a full height bespoke storage cupboard with Corston knobs.

Take a second staircase to the loft, where a fabulously long skylight brightens the hallway. The hotel style master suite here begins in a carpeted double bedroom with lime washed painted walls, Pooky brass wall lights and pendants, a vertical column style radiator and a huge floor to ceiling picture window. Sliding glass doors open to a covered balcony with composite decked floor and cast iron railing, offering treetop views whatever the weather.

An archway leads to a private dressing room, lit by a large front facing Velux, with bespoke cabinetry comprising wardrobes, drawers, and a dressing table in a walnut finish.

This, in turn, opens to a luxurious bathroom, lit by a second Velux, with Farrow & Ball London Clay walls and glossy square and dark veined marble porcelain tiling by Claybrook Studio and Mandarin Stone. There is a contemporary freestanding double ended bathtub with brass Abacus Iso Pro taps; a countertop basin with matching wall mounted mixer; a walk in wet room shower with separate shampoo attachment; a concealed cistern loo and a brass traditional style towel rail radiator.

OUTDOORS

Extending an impressive 50 foot, the professionally landscaped garden is enclosed with slatted timber fencing punctuated by black exterior wall lights and has been zoned to create several distinct areas.

Split level porcelain tiled patios step down to an artificial lawn bordered by Corten steel edged flowerbeds and a covered custom built outdoor kitchen, including a sink with mixer tap and a steel gas BBQ grill. A built in dining bench provides the ideal entertaining spot before the garden steps up again to a tiled patio with further stone benches and a pair of sunken contemporary water features.

A cedar clad garden room with aluminium windows and French doors extends the full width at the rear. With micro cement floors and birch ply clad walls, this fantastic space includes a bespoke kitchenette with a black sink and tap, built in L shaped desks, and a WC with a sink and close coupled loo. A brilliant home office, it would work equally well for guests or as a home gym, yoga space, art studio or games room.

A NOTE FROM THE OWNERS

We wanted this house to have a dramatic impact while still feeling relaxed and welcoming. We particularly love the loft bedroom suite and the kitchen area, with all the natural light flooding in through the best skylight you ll ever see! The garden room is also the perfect home working space.
