"The Porch occupies an attractive position in Lower Street in the centre of Stansted Mountfitchet and home to some of the villagen++s finest Tudur buildings. The house is traditionally constructed with a timber frame and rendered and colour washed elevations under a neat tiled roof and is Grade II Listed, considered to be of architectural and historical merit. This fine family home has character and many noteworthy features including ancient exposed timbers, evidence of a careful restoration which probably took place in the early part of the twentieth century and a number of pretty fireplaces. The accommodation includes an elegant entrance hall, well proportioned rooms with tall ceilings, kitchen, utility room and pantry. On the first floor there is a sizeable landing, master bedroom with en suite, four further bedrooms (one presently used as a study), a family bathroom and separate WC.

The Porch is attached to a single storey property at one side and on the other there is a driveway leading beside the house to a parking area and garage. The gardens are very much a feature and include a terrace, lawns with shrub and rose borders, a raised decked seating area and beyond, a more wildlife friendly garden with newly planted wild flowers and trees. The property is very close to a mainline station with services to London, Stansted Airport and Cambridge and a wide range of shops and schools.Directions

From Bishopn++s Stortford proceed in a northerly direction to Stansted Mountfitchet and just before the Total filling station on the left, turn right down Chapel Hill. At the bottom of the hill turn left into Lower Street and the property will be found approximately 100 metres along on the left, opposite the traffic lights."
