"Cobblers is an individual detached timber framed property, believed to date back to the mid 1600s, originally thatched but now with a tiled roof. The property was extended in the mid 1800s and further extensions were completed in the late 1990s. Cobblers is situated in a prominent location, retains many period features with private gardens to the rear overlooking farmland. In all, the property extends to over 2000sqft of accommodation. The reception lobby links through to the dining room with a polished wood floor and a brick fireplace with original range and leads to the sitting room with French doors to the garden and a fine inglenook fireplace with bressumer, open fire and copper hood. The inner hall has a unique turning staircase to the first floor. There is a well appointed kitchen/breakfast room with a range of base and wall cabinets and, in addition, a separate utility area, cloakroom and attractive snug with wood burning stove and French doors leading to the garden. The first floor accommodation offers 3 landing areas. The principal bedroom has a range of fitted wardrobes; there are 4 further bedrooms (one used as a study) and two bathrooms.
Outside, to the front of the property is a paved parking area for 3-4 vehicles leading to an integral garage (14' 4" x 8' 8") with double door entrance, power and light connected and houses the gas boiler. The rear garden is approximately 90ft x 65ft with a terrace and brick wall surrounds, flowerbed borders, laid to lawn with mature tree and shrub planting, an ornamental pond, vegetable garden, timber framed shed and views over farmland.Directions

From Saffron Walden take the B1052, turning on to the B1383 and proceeding into Newport. Turn right on to the B1038 through the village of Wicken Bonhunt and into the village of Clavering. Go past The Cricketers Public House (on your right) and down the hill (Hill Green) and into the High Street. The property will then be found on the left hand side."
