"A rare opportunity to purchase one of Rochford's most historic properties. Believed to originate circa 1300 with later additions, this Grade II listed property is situated within grounds of approximately half an acre. Boasting the famous Whispering Court, the property benefits from four bedrooms, four reception rooms, fitted kitchen with Aga, utility room and en-suite to master, with parking for several vehicles and a range of outbuildings.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Kynges Hill Has a Whispering Court Post which stands in the garden and relates to the Whispering Court. This is believed to have been held at Kynges Hill during the reign of Henry the Third. The story says that when a manorial Lord returned home at midnight after being absent for sometime he overheard some of his tenants plotting to murder him. As penance for their treachery they were commanded to assemble at Kynges Hill annually on the Wednesday after Michaelmas at midnight to pay homage for their lands in a whisper. It is thought that Robert Rich, second Earl of Warwick moved the court to Kyngnes Hill which was nearer to his home at Rochford Hall. The deeds of the Manor of Kynges Hill stipulate that the post must never be removed. In the 18th Century a feast was held at the Kings Head before the tenants set off for the Whispering Court.
