"Old House is a fine Tudor house in a highly desirable location only 1.5 miles to the east of Great Dunmow. The house is of heavy timber framed construction with mellow tiled roof and dates from approximately 1540. There is good family accommodation with scope for further enhancement and the gardens together with the outbuildings which include a small thatched barn are a delight.

The house is approached from the road via a five bar gate to a gravelled driveway and turning area leading to a range of outbuildings including two garages and adjacent garden stores. The house itself is set well back from the road and has on the ground floor an open plan hall leading into the main reception room which has heavy exposed beams and brick fireplace. The dining room has exposed beams and is of a good size with an attractive deep bow window. There is an everyday sitting room to the rear further inner hall and cloakroom and study. The kitchen has fitted units, a four oven Aga and deep walk in pantry. There is a rear porch and small boiler room. On the first floor there are five bedrooms all light and airy and a family bathroom.

Outside there are sweeping lawns to the front behind a mature hedge and these continue round to the rear where there are flower beds, herbaceous borders and mature trees, the whole providing a sublime setting.Directions
