Full description:
The Barn is a substantial, detached barn situated within the curtilage of a Grade II Listed property, in a small cluster of other period homes, placed just outside the medieval market town of Thaxted. The property is approached via a long driveway shared by neighbouring homes, leading on to an extensive gravelled driveway to the front of the barn where there is a carport and store to one side. The main front door leads into an expansive reception area, central to the home with stairs rising to the first floor, high vaulted ceiling and galleried landing above and floor-to-ceiling windows flooding the area with natural light. A separate study is contained within this area providing an ideal home office space, as is a ground floor cloakroom. A semi vaulted kitchen/breakfast room provides an array of cupboards, worktops and central island with granite surface incorporating an electric hob and oven, in addition to a green Aga recessed to a brick chimney breast. A cosy snug leads off to one side and a separate utility room provides a useful additional laundry area. An impressive sitting room features a large brick built fireplace with wood burning stove and has glazed doors opening to the outside. Alongside, a "games room" has doors opening to outside and could serve a variety of purposes. Finally, on the ground floor, the guest bedroom suite looks out to the front with its own en suite shower room. Upstairs, 4 bedrooms and family bathroom lead from the galleried landing. As you approach Thaxted you will reach a signpost towards Great Sampford, take this left hand turn continuing straight ahead until reaching Boyton End. Just past the village sign take a left hand turn on to a country track proceeding to the far end where the barn will be found on the right."
